Caroline, has over 15 years of educational experience including the recent accolade of being awarded Chartered status. Access Education NW was born from Caroline’s professional experience but also the lived experience of emotionally based school avoidance with her daughter who suffers from anxiety and depression, and was later diagnosed with Autism ( sharing with consent). "When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower" (Treisman, 2020) resonates deeply with Caroline and this perspective is the heart of Access Education.
The team around Caroline truly believe that one size does not fit all and each of them have been chosen to be a part of this amazing team because of their experiences and expertise. This, and the external links Access Education NW has, produces an educational package that meets the individual needs of young people trusted to us.

Alison taught in a large 11-18 secondary school for over 18 years, where she was Head of Business Studies.
In addition, Alison primarily focussed on the needs of SEND students, and how teaching and resources can be adapted to meet their individual needs. Alison is also a member of the senior examining team for Pearson, working on both domestic and international GCSE and A-Level papers.
AENW was born from Alison's love of teaching, and the awareness that, often, mainstream schools cannot meet the needs of all students. As mum to a child with ASD, Alison is very aware of the impacts of neurodiversity on the whole child, and part of the AENW offer is to ensure that all young people, no matter what their difficulties are, are given the tools to enable them to flourish! You will often hear Alison discussing 'building their toolkit' with young people, ensuring that they have the ability to manage both academic and social situations.
