Caroline has over 15 years of educational experience, highlighted by her recent achievement of being awarded Chartered status. Access Education NW emerged from Caroline’s professional background and her personal experience with emotionally based school avoidance, as her daughter suffers from anxiety and depression and was later diagnosed with Autism (shared with consent). The quote, "When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower" (Treisman, 2020), resonates deeply with Caroline and embodies the core philosophy of Access Education NW. The dedicated team surrounding Caroline firmly believes that one size does not fit all, which is why each member has been selected for their unique experiences and expertise in learning support. This collective knowledge, along with the external partnerships of Access Education NW, creates a tailored educational package that addresses the individual needs of the young people entrusted to us.

Alison taught in a large 11-18 secondary school for over 18 years, where she was Head of Business Studies. In addition, Alison primarily focused on the needs of SEND students and how teaching and resources can be adapted to meet their individual needs. As a member of the senior examining team for Pearson, she works on both domestic and international GCSE and A-Level papers. Access Education NW was born from Alison's love of teaching and the awareness that often mainstream schools cannot fully meet the educational experience of all students. As a mother to a child with ASD, Alison is acutely aware of the impacts of neurodiversity on the whole child. Part of the Access Education NW offer is to ensure that all young people, regardless of their difficulties, are provided with the learning support they need to flourish. You will often hear Alison discussing 'building their toolkit' with young people, ensuring they have the ability to manage both academic and social situations.
