Unlock the Potential of Every Young Person: Join Access Education NW

Do you believe in the power of personalised education to inspire and uplift young people with diverse abilities?

Are you an experienced, passionate teaching professional ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of disengaged students?

If so, we want to hear from you.

Who We Are - At Access Education NW, we are dedicated to transforming education for young people who cannot access mainstream schools. Whether due to learning differences, neurodiversity, medical needs, or mental health challenges, we provide a compassionate and inclusive alternative that centres on the individual needs of each young person.

By working collaboratively to create individualised learning plans, we help young people rediscover their strengths and achieve their goals. Our approach is simple: the young person leads, and we follow with tailored 1:1 or 2:1 intervention designed to meet their unique needs.

Last year, over 90,000 young people in the UK were persistently absent from education. Together, we can change this.

Who We Need - We are looking for compassionate, innovative teaching practitioners who are committed to inclusion and able to create safe, inspiring environments for young people. The key to our success lies in building strong connections, so we need professionals who don’t give up at the first hurdle and who think creatively to overcome challenges.

Whether you have professional expertise or personal experience with neurodiversity, trauma, or SEN, your skills and dedication can transform lives.

The Role - As a practitioner with Access Education NW, you will work 1:1 (or 2:1 with additional support) to deliver bespoke interventions outside the constraints of a traditional classroom. Whether exploring a park, visiting a museum, or designing hands-on projects, the world will be your classroom.

You’ll need to think on your feet, adapt to the needs of your student, and put their well-being and progress at the forefront of everything you do. Our strong support network and peer guidance will be available to help you succeed.

What We Offer:

  • Term time contracts with competitive rates of £33.00 per hour.
  • Daytime hours, Monday to Friday, with consistent weekly availability required.
  • Access to resources, advice, and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing tailored educational plans and interventions to meet agreed provision targets.
  • Building positive relationships with young people and fostering their engagement.
  • Monitoring progress, reporting behavioural and safeguarding concerns.
  • Conducting risk assessments for activities and environments.
  • Representing Access Education NW at multi-agency meetings if required.
  • Staying informed on current educational trends and guidance.

What We’re Looking For:

While experience and qualifications are required, having the patience, empathy, and resilience to support disengaged young people is also essential.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • QTS or recognised teaching qualification (PTLLS or higher).
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Current DBS certificate (registered with the update service).
  • Safeguarding training (completed within the last 12 months).
  • Experience teaching students with SEN, SEMH, or complex needs.
  • Knowledge of conditions like ADHD, PDA, ASD, and EBSA.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Intermediate IT skills for reporting and planning.
  • Awareness of the National Curriculum and key stages.
  • Full driving license and access to your own vehicle.

Why Join Us?
At Access Education NW, you’ll have the opportunity to change lives by showing young people new ways to learn and grow. This role is not just a job—it’s a chance to make a lasting impact and help young people find their path to success.

If you have the skills, experience, and heart to join our team, click ‘apply’ today. We’ll review your application and contact you if we believe you’re the right fit for this rewarding role.

Together, we can make a difference.
